Dr. DeSarbo's special interest in the neurosciences has led to a unique approach to treating eating disorders and other psychiatric conditions.Currently, Dr. DeSarbo serves as a Board Member of the National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA) of Long Island and he frequently lectures to the public and teaches courses on eating disorders and psychiatry to physicians and other health care providers. In addition to Dr. DeSarbo's extensive training in psychopharmacology, he has been trained in and practices psychodynamic, existential, and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT).
